Measurements International (MI) Announces a Joint Collaboration with The Federal Institute of Metrology (METAS) to Develop an Impedance Simulator.

PRESCOTT, Ontario – Measurements International (MI) a metrology-based company focused on developing products for Electrical Metrology at the primary standards level today announced a joint collaboration with The Federal Institute of Metrology (METAS) to develop an Impedance Simulator.

The first step of the collaboration focuses on the commercialization of the impedance Simulator (iSimulator) developed at METAS laboratories.  With this significant breakthrough develop by METAS customers will now have the ability to calibrate LCR metres to previously unavailable levels automation, accuracy and uncertainty.

The first model will be introduced this July in Paris, during the Conference on Precision Electromagnetic Conference (CPEM). Both MI personnel and METAS scientist will be present to answer question regarding this new technology. Sales of the Z1000 will begin in August/September of 2018

“The iSimulator is a significant breakthrough in the calibration of impedance metres. In the past the LCR meter calibration required large set of difference standards, which were manually connected. Finally, it is possible to carry out fully automated calibration that covers the whole complex plane with only one instrument,” says Alessio Pollarolo, VP of Measurement Science.
